H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Thinley Lhundup is the 37th throne holder of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He is considered the emanation of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the embodiment of the Great Compassion of all Buddhas.

H.E. Garchen Rinpoche is the 8th reincarnation of Gardampa Chodingpa, a heart-disciple of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgön and an emanation of the Mahasiddha Aryadeva, a disciple of Nagarjuna at the monastic university of Nalanda.
